In my kitchen, I have a drawer where I let the kids keep their coloring books, crayons, homework papers, etc. This drawer is usually stuffed to overflowing, resulting in papers falling into the cupboard just below it. Of course, when the papers end up down there, I just throw them out. The kids never miss them after they have fallen down into the mysterious beyond anyway. The other day I was putting my griddle away in said mysterious beyond when I came across a drawing by Alyssa. It was a picture of a princess, (This is not her drawing obviously. It has been so many years since I have used a scanner that I have forgotten how. Someday I will figure it out again, but not today.) with these words: "The Princess was popyeller like craze...I love being popyeller!" Alyssa is a great speller. But sometimes when she uses words she has never come across on her spelling test, she just spells them phonetically. Figuring the word out is kind of like playing "Madgab". When I figured out what this said, I laughed my head off! Can you figure it out?
I would probably worry about her being shallow if it weren't for the fact that her teachers all tell me she is really sweet and nice to all the other kids. (Of course I didn't think any differently, but I hate to be one of those moms who have horrible children, and yet don't know it. They think their kids never do anything wrong. "I'm sorry officer. You must be mistaken. My sweet little Timmy would NEVER knock off a liquor store." You know the type I mean.) Anyway, here's to being totally popyeller...and cool stuff like that. : )
